Willie Mae Hays, 90, of McAlester, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.  Funeral services are set for Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 3:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester, with Pastor Donny King officiating.

Willie Mae Hays was born on Nov. 9, 1934 in McAlester to William T. and Hazel Catherine (Hardy) Smith.  She grew up here and has lived here all her life.  She was married to J. J. Hays who preceded her in death.  When she was young, Willie worked aa a waitress for a short time, but mostly was a homemaker for her husband and her nephew, Kase Martin, who she raised from the age of 5 years.  Willie's favorite activity was going to garage sales.

Willie is survived by her special nephew, Kase Martin, a brother, James Smith, and 2 sisters, Betty Williams and Donna Robinson, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
