Danny Kelley was born on Sept. 15, 1973 in McAlester, the son of William Henry "Sonny" Kelley and Patricia Ann (Leadford) Kelley.  He lived in McAlester for the majority of his life,  and graduated from McAlester High School in 1992.  He worked various jobs before completing the COPS program at Eastern Oklahoma State College.  He began his career in law enforcement as a reserve deputy for the Krebs Police Department.
