LaFaye Autrey, 95, of McAlester, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at her home.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home chapel in McAlester with Pastor Jerry Hollaway officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in McAlester. Active pallbearers will be Brian Graham, Bill McConathy, Jeremy Turney, Dalton Spicer, Matt Kowals and Dennis Autrey.

LaFaye was born on December 4, 1929 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Grady and Bertha (Middleton) Harrington. She married LeRoy Autrey on July 19, 1946 in McAlester. She retired from McAlester Public Schools and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in McAlester. She enjoyed going to grand kids and great-grand kids activities, bingo, Stipe Senior Citizens, Krebs Senior Citizens and spending time with family.

Survivors include her children, Elaine Thomas, Diane Graham, and Dennis and Katrina Autrey; grandchildren, Brian Graham, Kristie Pearson, Niki Bond and husband, Justin, Nikki Worrell and Jeremy Turney, Brittanny Wilburn and Dalton Spicer; great-grandchildren, Macie Kowals, MaKenna Pearson, Jake Pearson, Allison Bond, Kylie Graham, Arabella Totani, Connor Totani, Anya Williamson, Harlow Pool, Frankie Pool, and Jensen Pool; sister-in-law, Patti Harrington; a host of friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Autrey; beloved partner, John Newman, Sr.; parents, Grady and Bertha Harrington, brother, Clester Harrington, and infant brother, Dewayne Harrington.

LaFaye, also known as "Nannie," will be missed every day but not forgotten.
