Walter Joseph Mellor, 91, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the St. John Catholic Church in McAlester with Very Rev. Jovita Okonkwo officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in McAlester. Active pallbearers will be Danny O'Connor, Danny Powell, Dan Mellor, Daniel O'Connor, Maureen O'Connor, and Lily Mellor.  Honorary pallbearers will be John R. Mellor, and Michael J. Mellor, Sr.

Walter was born in McAlester on March 9th, 1934 to Clyde and Anna Mellor. He was the third of 4 children to the couple. He graduated McAlester High School in 3 years in 1950. He then went to TU and graduated in 1954. He stayed in Tulsa and worked various positions in different companies. He retired from Ethyl Corporation. He liked to bowl and was in many leagues.

He is survived by his older brother, John F. Mellor of Tulsa, OK; 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and many grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde R. and Anna Mellor; an older sister, Ann M. Reynolds; a younger sister, Betty Josephine Mellor; and many aunts and uncles who were very much a part of his life.
