Viola Marie (Robson) Vires

Viola Marie (Robson) Vires, 81, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Marie was born May 27, 1945 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Bill and Belle (Boatman) Robson. Marie was married to Charles Vires on June 26, 1964, and they were married for 48 years. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church in McAlester and enjoyed gardening, grandchildren, and thrifting.

Survivors include her children, Charles Vires, Jr. of Memphis, TN, Tonya Vires of McAlester, OK, and Ellea Vires of McAlester, OK; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Roxie (Robson) Throckmorton of Oklahoma City, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Paul Gean Vires; a daughter, Sonya Faye Vires; and a sister, Sarah June Robson.

A private graveside service for the family will be at the Bache-Red Oak Cemetery where Marie will be interred.
