Obituary

Victor William Edwards, 59, of Calera, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, April 5, at his home.  Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.  Burial will follow at Mountain Station Cemetery.

Victor was born on May 19, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Quentin and Frances (Haft) Edwards.  He grew up in Winter Haven, Florida and became an accomplished pianist, composer, trumpeter, and singer.  He went to Evangel College to study music and later received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Accounting from Auburn University.  Victor worked for Atmos Energy for most of his career, followed by Liberty Utilities.  Most recently he worked for Choctaw Nation in Durant, Okla.  He also led Praise and Worship at various churches around the Dallas area.  He and Geneva Nelson were married on June 24, 2016, and have lived in Calera, Ok. for the past two years.  When time allowed, he and Geneva loved to travel, both nationally and internationally.

Victor was preceded in death by his father Quentin Edwards.  He is survived by his wife, Geneva Edwards; his mother, Frances Edwards; his brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Fonda Edwards of Houston, Tx; his son and daughter-in-law, Austin and Sarah Edwards of San Mateo, California; his son and daughter-in-law, Nathaniel and Brittany Edwards and his first grandchild, Rylnn Edwards of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; his step-sons, William Dickens and Johnny Dickens of Springfield, Missouri; and his step-daughter, Jackey Dickens of Springfield, Missouri.
