Obituary

Tommye Lovell (Shannon) McLennan, 87, of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at her home.

She was born on May 6, 1935 in Ward Valley, Oklahoma to John and Lois (Byrd) Shannon.  She was a Supervisor for the Department of Human Services.  She enjoyed her grandchildren, feeding and watching birds, hugging and baking cookies for the Awanas.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Loey McLennan of McAlester, OK, Sherri Stiger, Shan McLennan of Alderson, OK, Leasa and Roger Lane of Pittsburg, OK, Shanna and Greg Williams of McAlester, OK and Gina and Tommie Williams of McAlester, OK; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Willie Jo (Shannon) Reed of Haysville, KS; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gaile and Mary Shannon of Kiowa, OK, Paul and Linda Shannon of Pittsburg, OK; sister-in-law, Barbara Shannon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lois Shannon; brothers, Louis Shannon, Roy Shannon and Dale Shannon; sister, Nettie DeVivero and a great-grandson, Maximus Holden Stiger.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Pastor Kenneth Morrow officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Otis Williams, Tommie A. Williams, Wesley Alberson, Will Johnston, Gavin Johnston and Jacob Shannon.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Gentlemen of the First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, Gaile Shannon, Paul Shannon, Mike Reed, Eddie deVivero, Javier deVivero, Marty Shannon, Bradley Shannon, TJ Shannon, John Shannon, Daniel Stiger, Jeromy Lane, Joshua Lane, Stephen Luman, Shane Stiger, Raymond Williams, Joseph Williams, Ryan Diffee, Christopher McLennan, Caleb McLennan and Cliff Taylor.
