Obituary

Tommy Brent Walker, 60, passed away on Saturday, March 30th, at his home in McAlester, Oklahoma.  He was born on September 10th, 1963 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Tommy and Shelby (Williams) Walker.

Brent leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a loving father to Chris Woods of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Tony Walker and wife Tamara of Wellston, Oklahoma, Lora Beck and husband Gavin of Norman, Oklahoma, Jay Walker and wife Alix of McKinney, Texas, and Bray Walker and wife Kailey of McAlester, Oklahoma. He was also a cherished brother to Dena Covalt of McAlester, Oklahoma, Christie Epps and husband Alan of Scipio, Oklahoma.  His presence will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Samantha Walker, Timothy Walker, Jace Woods, Cali Walker, Sullivan Beck, Henry Beck, Kingston Walker, Baby Walker, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who have become like family.

He started his career in commercial construction and building the giant praying hands at Oral Roberts University was not only his first big job, but one that he was most proud of. He went on to build many other commercial buildings specializing in restaurants.  His work took him all over the country, but he eventually made his way back to Oklahoma where he started his own company, Walker Construction.  After retirement he took jobs at Halliburton and First National Bank of McAlester where his knack of being able to fix just about anything was appreciated.

Brent had a passion for the outdoors, finding joy in hunting and fishing adventures. His sense of humor, loyalty, and generosity endeared him to all who knew him.  Whether he was sharing a joke, lending a helping hand, or spending quality time with loved ones, Brent approached life with an infectious spirit that left a lasting impact on those around him.

Brent is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Shelby Walker, his maternal grandparents Orba Williams and Novella (Lay) Lozano, paternal grandparents Archie L. Walker and Nolan McManes, uncle Archie and wife Rhetta Walker, and aunt Donna Knight.

A celebration of Brent's life will be held on Saturday, April 13th, at the Echo Ridge Pavilion at Arrowhead, from 4-8 pm. It will be a come-and-go event, allowing attendees to join family and friends as they are able.

Though Brent may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will live on in the memories we shared and the lives he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
