Thomas Hayes, 77, of Savanna, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital South in Oklahoma City.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Chambers Cemetery.  Burial will follow.

Thomas was born on August 7, 1945 in McAlester to Herbert H. and Claudia Marie (Herrera) Hayes.  He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Spirit after many years of service. He was married to Maxine "Doodle" Wilson for over 47 years before she preceded him in death on August 27, 2017.  Tommy and Doodle hosted several foreign exchange students through the years.

He competed in Archery events and was involved with RC Model Airplanes and was a member of the Kiamichi Valley Flyers Association in Wilburton. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include a brother, Kenneth R. Hayes; nephew, Adam B. Hayes; cousins, Betty Herrera Nichols and Earl Herrera; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Ellington, Bob and Janice Wilson, Jean Reeves, Peggy Fulkersin, Fran Mattias, Jerry and Glenda Wilson, Becky Schorr, Betty Joslyn, Sherry Medley, Terry and Kyle Adams; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; his nephews, Brian Hayes, Robert Wilson, Jeff Mattias and a brother-in-law, Gary Wilson.
