Tanya Henley Soblaskey was born on May 15, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Leroy and Joyce (Thompson) Henley.  She grew up in McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School in 1974.  While in school she worked for the city of McAlester through the school's DECA  program as the City Court Clerk.  Shortly after that, in 1978, Tanya joined the McAlester Fire Department as the first female firefighter in the state of Oklahoma.  A few years later she moved to Oklahoma City where she went to work for Southwest Airlines in their customer service department.  She also served on the SWA Culture Committee and helped with the SWA Golf Tournament fundraiser.  She retired as a customer support specialist after 23 years of service.

Tanya was a talented and giving lady.  She was a volunteer mom with FFA when her kids were in school and was always volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House, and spent 2 weeks in Guatemala with her daughter volunteering with "Open Wide Dental".  She was also skilled in making vintage jewelry and often used that jewelry for charity.  She loved to go antiquing, travel and go on cruises.  She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ.

Tanya is survived by her husband, Josh Soblaskey; her children, Marty Soblaskey, Tyler Soblaskey, and Kaitlyn Soblaskey; 2 grandchildren, Lily Claire and Sydney Rose Soblaskey; 2 sisters, Pam Henley and Rita Henley.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Joyce Henley.
