Sylvia Mae Estep, 70, of McAlester, passed away Monday, November 29, at McAlester Regional Health Center.  Funeral services will be Friday, December 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Pallbearers will be David Barnett, Jeremy "Moose" Mills, Leon Murrin, Michael "Mike" Benoit, Phillip "Slick" Barryman and Stephen Holloway.

Sylvia Estep was born on June 21, 1951 in Bakersfield, California to Elmer and Gladys (Hobbs) Estep.  He family moved to this area when Sylvia was a teenager and she completed her education here, graduating from Haileyville High School.  After a few college courses, she hired on with the Social Security Administration in McAlester.  She finally retired recently, after 50 years as an SSA Service Representative.  Sylvia loved to watch crime shows on TV and was an unlikely gun enthusiast.  And when it came to getting in the car and going somewhere, she was always ready.

Sylvia is survived by her grandsons, Tommy Estep, Jr. and wife Chelsia, and Austin Tucker; granddaughter, Gabbi Estep; great grandchildren, Ronan Estep and Aurora Bennett; a brother, J. T. Hobbs and wife Zoe; nieces, Melody Valenta and husband Tony, Faye Hull and husband David.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tommy Estep, Sr.
