Shirley Jane McBee

Shirley Jane (McMurtrey) McBee, 89, of Hartshorne, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Visitation will take place on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Graveside services will be at 11am, Tuesday, January 13th at Elmwood Cemetery Pavilion in Hartshorne with Stephen Mass officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Shirley Jane McBee was born on October 23, 1936 in Haileyville, the daughter of Clyde and Julia (Daugherty) McMurtrey. She married William I (Billy) McBee on September 4, 1956 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. She lived in the Pittsburg county area most of her life and was a member of the Hartshorne First Baptist Church. Survived by her children Julie Nell (McBee) Brooksher of Broken Arrow and Todd Steven McBee and wife Jill of McAlester. Grandsons Chaz Brooksher of Dallas TX and Chance McBee and wife McKenzie and their daughter Frances of Fayetteville AR. Sister Dotty Faith of Muskogee and Brothers Frankie McMurtrey of Hartshorne and Eddie McMurtrey of Haileyville and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by husband Billy McBee, son William Mark McBee, parents Clyde and Julia, sisters Mickie Ellmaker and Charlene Butkis, brothers Joe Joe McMurtrey and infant brother Horace, parents-in-law William H (Pete) and Nellie McBee, sister-in-law Mary Alice (McBee) Benedict. Her family wishes to express their gratefulness to the complete staff of McAlester Regional Hospital facility for their compassionate care and kindness that extended above and beyond the patient. And a special thanks to the 2nd Floor and ICU nurses who were not limited to the book for making her comfortable.
