Sarah Elsie Brown (Caraway), of Wilburton, OK passed away peacefully on December 12, 2022, at the age of 101 in McAlester. Her funeral will be at Brumley Mills Funeral Home in  McAlester at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15 2022, officiated by David Hart and John Johnston.  Interment will be at Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers are Jarred Weeden, Lance Reading, Josh Yates, Charles Jorgenson, Clint Corel

Sarah Brown was born on September 21, 1921, outside Homer, LA in a log cabin, to Lucy Mrytle and Leonard D. Caraway. She was a housewife, mother and granny. She loved entertaining her family and was a member of Thessalonian Baptist Church, Red Oak OK, and Cornerstone Baptist Church, Hartshorne.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Johnston, of Wilburton, and a brother and sister-in-law, Earl & Charlotte Caraway, Midland TX; 11 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 30 great great grandchildren.
