Roger Bruce Jennings, 73, of McAlester, entered eternity Tuesday, February 14, 2023 peacefully at his home surrounded with family at his side.

The Jennings family will receive friends on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5-7 pm at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2023 at The King's House in McAlester with Pastor Mark Hennen officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in McAlester.

Roger was born on January 17, 1950 to John and Mary Louise of Washington, IN. He married Alana Heeke of Jasper, Indiana on August 14, 1971 and shared over 46 years celebrating life and their family.

Roger was a devoted husband and father to their four children. His passion was to adequately provide for his family and ensure each of his children developed lifelong skills to carry on the necessary task of providing for each of their families. His commitment to this led him to many accomplishments during his career. His ability to assess situations and provide solid solutions positioned him for success in his endeavors. He received various awards and recognitions throughout his tenure at both Keebler Company and Frito-Lay, with a combined 42 years in Management. He served in multiple roles, volunteering at his church, overseeing the implementation of Sunday School curriculum and driving church busses for over 20 years to pick up children and their families. He genuinely loved helping others whenever the opportunities presented themselves.

Survivors include his daughter Shannon and late husband Charles Boatner and granddaughter Krystian, all of McAlester and Krystian's children, Rhettly and Evvy Houston; his son Broc and his wife Mandy, grandchildren Izaiah and Silas, all of Mustang, OK; His son Blake and his wife, Hannah, grandchildren Ava and Alaia, all of McAlester. Additionally, brother-in-law, Verl and his wife Tanya and their children, Taylor Meyering and Morgan Heeke, all of Houston, TX; His sister-in-law Jan and her husband Ron Cloyd of Chicago, IL and their children Justina Walker of Loogootee, IN and Cassidy and Eric Neveux and their children Max and Dash, all of Chicago, IL.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Louise, wife Alana Jennings, his daughter, Shavonna Lynn Jennings and his grandsons Randy Wright and Jacob Jennings.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Wesley, Max McNutt, John Spiegel, Sr., Tommy Cravens, Nolen Lake, Art Dodd, Tony Runyon and Jack Southard. Honorary pallbearers will be current and former employees of Frito-Lay.
