Robert Dean Horton, 76, of Krebs, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at McAlester Regional Health Center.  No services are scheduled at this time

Robert Dean Horton was born on September 7, 1949 in Crowder, to Talmadge "Wolf" and Eva Marie (Standridge) Horton.  He grew up there and graduated from Crowder High School.  He joined the U. S. Navy and served almost 4 years before receiving his honorable discharge.  He returned to Pittsburg County and married Deborah Sue Mitchell, and they eventually made their home in Krebs.  Robert worked at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary, retiring as a Lieutenant in 2000 after 25 years.  Robert was a coon hunter and competed in national trials each year with his dogs.  He eventually switched to beagles, and did the same with them.

Robert is survived by his wife, Deborah Horton; his children, Kimberly Harp and Jason Womack and his wife Sarah; his grandchildren, Michael Edwards, Taylor Moore, Dusty Moore, Whitney Smith, Lane Womack, and Justin Womack; and 2 brothers, Ralph Horton and Robert Leroy Horton.
