Rance Lee Warren, known to his family as "Pooh-Bear", passed away Monday, Sept. 4, at McAlester Regional Health Center.  The family will welcome friends for visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Funeral services are set for Monday, Sept. 11, at 10:00 a.m. at the McAlester Expo Center, with Bruce Brannon officiating.  Burial will follow at Gowen Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Keaton Warren, Blade Stewart, Hunter Stewart, Dakota Grantham, Matt Turner, and Riley Turner.  In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Oklahoma Youth Hunting Program here at www.oyhp.org/donate.

Rance Warren was born on Oct. 13, 1990 in McAlester to Jay Robert Warren and Lovica May (Hallum) Warren.  He grew up in Gowen and in Alabama, where he became a big fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football, then graduated from Wilburton High School.  Rance went to work for the Choctaw Nation as a security officer at the McAlester casino, soon becoming a Tribal Police Officer, a position he has held for 13 plus years.  He also taught a class on criminal justice at the Kiamichi Technology Center in Hugo for 2 years.  In his free-time he loved hanging out with his buddies, Matt, Riley, Robert, Kenyon, David and others, hunting, and, especially fishing.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Truman Hallum and Ruth Hallum.

Rance is survived by his parents, Jay and Lovica Warren; a brother and sister-in-law, Keaton and Alyssa Warren and their daughter, Alayna; grandmother, Sammie Warren; grandfather, Jerry Wayne Warren and wife Eva; aunt and uncle, Debra Ann Warren and Doug Stewart ; uncle, Elmus Hallum; Ciara Warren and Boz ; aunt and uncle, Mike and Barbara Turner; cousins, Blade Stewart, wife Kristen, and their daughters, Becca and Addie; Hunter Stewart, Latricia Workman; special friends, Matt Turner, Riley Turner, Robert Hunt, Kenyon O'Daniel, and David Mass, plus many brothers and sisters in law enforcement and numerous cherished lifetime friends.
