Ramona "Mona" (Holt) Key, of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 4th, 2025, in McAlester, Oklahoma.

Born on August 18, 1965, in Fort Worth, Texas, Ramona was a loving wife to Billy Key until his passing in 2018. Throughout her life, Mona embraced a variety of careers, but her time working for the railroad held a special place in her heart.

Mona was devoted to her family and friends, always putting their needs before her own, and could change the mood in any room with her big infectious laugh. She loved with her whole heart and never missed a chance to tell you "well duh" when you needed to hear it. She had a special love for fishing with her brother Ricky but we are still unsure whether they were catching fish or catching a buzz. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family were unmatched.

Ramona leaves behind her children, Jared Holt, Danielle (Holt) Meadows, Heather Key, and Robin Key, her nine grandchildren and countless friends and family members who are now unsupervised and not entirely sure how to function without her.

A celebration of her life and probably some questionable stories will be held on Friday, August 8th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Angel's Diner, located at 1402 S. George Nigh Expressway, McAlester, OK 74501. In lieu of flowers, please tell someone you love them today and maybe go catch a fish in her honor.
