Paulette R. Groves, 79, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Palestine Community Church near Quinton, Oklahoma with Rev. Cardell Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaiah Doster, Josh Carney, Chuck Groves, Chris Groves, Josh Cloud, David Pryor, Chad Pryor, Joe Leitka, Brian Hoerchler, Scott Hoerchler, Sonny Leitka.

Paulette was born on June 12, 1944 in McAlester to Alvie and Wanda (Roberts) Carney.  She married Donald G. Groves on August 24, 1968 in McAlester.  She was a longtime teacher and coach, and coached multiple state high school championships at Putnam City public schools in softball, basketball and volleyball.  She was known as "GiGi" to her grandkids and enjoyed watching them play sports, participate in JROTC and other activities.  She was very involved with the Indianola Alumni Association and was an active member of the Chisholm Trail Presbyterian Church in Yukon.

She was survived by her husband, Donald G. Groves, who passed away the day after her on Saturday, February 10, 2024; daughter, Mitzi Groves; son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Melissa Groves; grandchildren, Isaiah Doster, Kylie Groves and Lily Groves; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Susanne Carney, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Ann (Carney) Harry and many aunts and uncles.
