Paul Edward Moody, 84, of Hartshorne, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center.

Paul was born on January 29, 1939 in Haileyville, Oklahoma to William and Julia Louise (Luck) Moody. He was a lifelong resident of this area and served in the United States Army. He groomed and trained race horses and was a carpenter. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include a son, Bud Clinton Moody of Hartshorne; daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Edwards and John Martin of McAlester, Paula and Joe James of Higgins, Kim and David Dunham of McAlester; sister and brother-in-law, Linda & Ted Bastain of Porterville, CA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his former wife and still best friend, Mary Francis Laudermilk.

He was preceded in death by his dad, William Perry Moody; mother, Julia Louise Moody; grandparents, Edna and George Moody, Effie and Looney Atticus Luck; sisters, Nancy Moody Sisson and Lou Ellen Moody Emerson; brothers, Bud Moody, Clint Moody and Jack Moody; grandson, Naconna Bennett.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne. Burial will follow at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Shannon Edwards, Cody Edwards, Jesse James, Isaac James, Kyle Moody, Clinton Moody and Keaton Moody. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Zane Lordahl, Mekhi Barr, James Jr. Barr, Wyatt Edwards, Colten Moody, Bryce James, Hunter James and Gage James.
