Patsy Johnson, 85, of McAlester, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Van Buren House in McAlester.

She was born on May 21, 1937 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Lester and Faye (Giles) Blankenship.  She married Paul Johnson on June 27, 1957 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  She worked and retired as a Tax Compliance Officer for the State of Oklahoma.  She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities and sporting events and also making Christmas candy.

She is survived by a son, Les Johnson of McAlester, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Paula Ward and husband Roy of Kiowa, OK; daughter-in-law, Renee Johnson of LeFlore, OK; grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Roy Paul Ward and wife, Whitney of Tahlequah, OK, Whitney Lynn Ward of Jenks, OK, Chloe Faye Johnson of Longmont, CO, Cody Johnson and wife, Ashlee of McAlester, OK, Misty Johnson and wife Melissa of LeFlore, OK and Johnny Paul Johnson of Durant, OK; great-grandchildren, Lexie Johnson, Jett Johnson and Wheeler Ward; sister, Wanda Bandiera of Mesquite, TX; special friend, Lena Lalli and Regina Pope; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Johnson; parents, Lester and Faye Blankenship; brothers, Bobby and Charles Blankenship.

A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Krebs, Oklahoma with Father Kingsley George-Obilonu officiating.
