Obituary

Norma Beth Sullivan, 90, of McAlester, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, at her home in McAlester.  Visitation will be Monday until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ, with Minister B. J. McMichael officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.  Pallbearers are the Deacons of the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ; honorary pallbearers are the Elders.

Norma Beth Sullivan was born on Dec. 6, 1930 in Henryetta to Willie and Claudia (Elms) Reese.  She grew up in the Stuart/Ashland area and graduated from Ashland High School with the honor of Valedictorian.  She also excelled at softball and basketball.  After school she went to work at Seamprufe Manufacturing (now Komar), which is where she met Lindel "John" Sullivan.  They were married on Dec. 3, 1949 in McAlester.   Norma worked as a bookkeeper at Riverside Autoplex until her retirement well into her 70's, and had previously done the same at Kelley Motors.  Norma was a long-time member of the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ and was also a member of the Business and Professional Women of McAlester.  When she could, she always enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her friends.

Norma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sherry Sullivan of Duncan; grandchildren, Jeff Delano, Dawn Delano Cain, Greg Delano, Chad Sullivan, Zach Sullivan, and Melanie Shucker; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Sullivan; a daughter, Sharon Lynn Sullivan-Delano; a brother, William, "Bill" Reese; sisters, Floy Schnold, Mary Ann Newton, and Betty Chapman.
