Nelda June Busby, 79, of Bugtussle, passed away Thursday, April 1, at her home.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with David Cantrell officiating.  Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of the Scipio Baptist Church, Roger Lott and Gary Barlow.  Donations can be made to The Samaritan's Purse, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to Hospice of McAlester.

Nelda Busby was born on July 14, 1941 in Indianola to Robert Delmer Nale and Ruby Alice (Masters) Nale.  She graduated from McAlester High School in 1959 as the co-valedictorian.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Steidley and Neal Law office for a number of years, then went to work at National Oilwell as their bookkeeper.  She and W. A. Busby were married on July 18, 1959, and he preceded her in death in 2014.  Nelda had been a member of the Scipio Baptist Church since 2013.  She loved to read, especially the Bible; and she loved spending time with her family.

Nelda is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Monte and Charmion Busby of Scipio and Jeremy and Tiffany Busby of McAlester; grandchildren, Kory Busby and Madison of Edmond, Monte Busby, Jr. and Chasity of Scipio, Kylee and Kord Busby of McAlester; sisters, Patti Garrecht of McAlester, Verba Lee Nichols and husband Lloyd of Ardmore, Shirley Drummonds of Fayetteville, Ark. and Faye Durant of McAlester; and a special friend, Zandria Garner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Christi Busby, her parents, a brother, Robert Raymond Nale, a sister, Bobbie Viola Nale, and a brother, George Dean Nale.
