Myra Kay (Weaver) Watson, 73, of Alderson, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at her home in Alderson.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Funeral services are Monday, September 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester, with Scott Logan officiating.  Pallbearers are Clay Horton, Jimmy Brown, Alvin Brown, John Hall, Jay Clark and Wendell Huggins.  Honorary pallbearers are Mike Suter, Logan Suter, Steve Davidson and J. J. Clark

Myra Kay "Sissy" (Weaver) Watson was born July 10, 1949 in McAlester to Charles and Bernice (Hall) Weaver.

Myra grew up in Alderson, OK. She attended Alderson Schools and graduated from Haileyville High School in 1967. After high school, Myra graduated from Virgil's Beauty College in Muskogee, OK. Myra worked at Vanity Fair and Hunt's Beauty Salons before opening her own shop in Hartshorne – The Hair Barn. She also worked at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant as assembly worker in production.

She enjoyed gardening, woodworking, sewing and one thing that most don't like – mowing the lawn. Myra also enjoyed helping Mechelle with her animals for FFA.  At prom time, Myra was delivering lambs in the stock trailer in between putting rhinestones on Mechelle's prom dress.

One of Myra's best characteristics was that she was always helping people. If anything was mentioned that someone needed, she was on it – like a duck on a junebug! And if she couldn't take care of it, a quick call to Mechelle was sure to solve problem!

After retiring, Myra cared for her mother Bernice full time. Anyone who has ever taken care of a loved one knows what a tiring and difficult job it is.  There wasn't much she couldn't do or would at least try. Myra is survived by her daughter Mechelle Hampton of Tulsa and two brothers, Ralph and Raymond Weaver. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bernice Weaver, maternal grandparents, Noah and Penola Hall and paternal grandmother, Minnie Miller.

Steve Davidson said she was like a second mom to him and if he was getting out of line, she didn't hesitate to chew his "behind"!

Danny Walker says one of his best memories of high school is when Myra took him and Mechelle to Norman to the "Pride of Oklahoma" day to meet and greet band members.

Myra and Mike Suter became fast friends once he moved to Alderson, he was quickly adopted as her "boy" – she enjoyed sharing her recipes and baking with him, helping him learn to can fruits and vegetables and taught him many of her woodworking skills.
