Mike Reed, 68, of McAlester, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at McAlester Regional Health Center.

Mike was born on December 29, 1954 in McAlester to Freeman Reed and Alice Marie (Lewis) Shatley. He enjoyed softball, fishing and riding horses.

Survivors include sisters and a brother, Cathy Johnson, Sharon Franks of Texas, Becky Keel of Texas, Karen Johnston of Kiowa, Tammy Blaze of Texas and Phillip Reed of McAlester; nieces and nephews, Christie Kiehl, Brent Reed, Shawn Painter, Tyler Marquiez and Michael ThinElk.

He was preceded in death by his father, Freeman Reed; mother, Alice Marie Shatley; sisters, Jan Painter, Patricia ThinElk and Bobbie Wallace.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester with Rev. Jerry Burnside officiating. Burial will follow at Carney Cemetery in the Chambers area.
