Michael Thompson, 61, of McAlester, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at his home.

At Mike's request he will be cremated. Military honors will be performed at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Michael was the first son of Clifford Wayne and Geneva (Shneider) Thompson. He was born on April 17 1963 in Montclair, California. He attended school in Oklahoma at Lane grade school and graduated from Atoka High school in 1981.  After graduation he joined the National Guard before going into the Army until his discharge in 1987. He worked at Beale Tire in McAlester until 2019.

In 1992, Mike met and married Jackie Litzell from Oklahoma and had two sons, Christopher and Jonathan. They moved back to Atoka in 2002 and divorced in 2004.  He then lived with Debbie (Spangler) Blackmon from 2012 until his passing.

Mike is preceded in death by his son Christopher; both parents; all of his grandparents and various relatives; In-laws, Donnie Blackmon and Linda Willis; and close friend Stausha Pearce.

Michael is survived by his wife, Debbie Blackmon; ex-wife, Jackie and son Jonathan; brother, Steve and wife Sherry of CA; stepsons, Brian Hutchinson, Justin Hutchinson, and their families.
