Obituary

Michael Edward Costello, 68, of Hartshorne, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Beare Manor in Hartshorne.  Michael will lie in state for viewing and visitation at the First Assembly of God Church in Hartshorne beginning Monday afternoon.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church of Hartshorne, with Pastor Scott Horstman officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne.  Pallbearers are Shane Smith, Micah Baker, Joe Guazdausky, Trace Nimrod, Eldon Ward, and Tom Bruton.  Honorary pallbearers are Rocky Ragan, Michael Baker, Greg Baker, and David Ledbetter.

Michael Costello was  born on September 16, 1953 in Coventry, Connecticut to Bernard and Mary (Runkel) Costello.  Michael married the love of his life, Barbara Bruton Costello on June 19, 1989.  Michael worked as a glass glazier and was an incredible musician.  He had a deep love for Jesus and the need to share the Gospel with everyone that he encountered.

Michael is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Bruton Costello; sons, Michael Costello, Jr., Mark Costello, Chad Bruton, and a very special niece that he claimed as his daughter, Christina Baker; 2 special grandchildren, that he and Barbara raised, Jessica Ragan Smith and Cassandra Ragan Guazdausky, along with several other special grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved so much; a son-in-law, Rocky Ragan and wife Jamie; siblings, Bernie Costello and wife Myrtle, John Costello and wife Robyn, and Edward Costello; sisters, Doris Sutfin and husband Bobby, and Kathleen Daros; and a brother-in-law, Eldon Ward and wife Esther; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mathew Costello; a daughter, Lisa Ann Bruton Ragan; grandchildren, Brittani Baker, Victoria Costello, Griffin Costello; a nephew, John Costello, Jr.; and nieces Mindi Battles and Shane Costello.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beare Manor for the excellent care they provided to Michael, as well as Heartland Hospice.  Their true compassion was heart-felt and we are forever grateful.
