Obituary

Michael Lloyd Blevins, 61, of McAlester, passed away Sunday, July 3, at his home, with his loving family by his side.  The family will welcome friends for viewing and visitation on Thursday, July 7, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Friday, July 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Steve Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Blue Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Mike Emery, Rick Hill, Luis Cruz, Arthur Shropshire, Cody Mauldin, Mark Glenn and Donnie Ward.  Honorary pallbearers are Denny Emery, Ryder Godwin, Rick Clark, Jesse Thompson, Manford Smith.

Michael Blevins was born on Dec. 12, 1960 in Hanford, Calif. to Lloyd Frank Blevins and Shirley Ellen (Lawson) Blevins.  He attended school at Haywood then Savanna.  Michael married Rhonda Dea Hance on March 31, 2007.  He worked as an operator for North Houston Pole Line Company and enjoyed the work and the people he worked with.  After retiring, he worked for Barnett Construction for several years.  Michael was a family man he loved his kids and grandkids and took every opportunity to spoil them.  He enjoyed horses and was always doing something around the house.  He was always there trying to help a neighbor or friend.  Michael loved life and his family, he fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He will be greatly missed by many.  He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church.

Michael is survived by his wife, Rhonda Blevins of the home; children, Dusty, Michelle (DeWayne), Jonathon, Marti (Austin), Nickie (David), and Jennifer (Rick); 12 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ronnie (Debbie), and Greg (Leslie); sisters, Kathy, Donna, Brenda (Paul), and Rhonda (Greg); and a special friend, Whitney Clifton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Shirley Blevins; grandparents, Frank and Grace Blevins, and Burt and Mary Lawson; a granddaughter, Kamber Pedigo; a great grandson, Baylor Wilkins; a brother, Gary Blevins; a step-daughter, Amber Brewer; and a niece, Lani Romine.
