Melvin Leo Taylor, 86, of McAlester, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in McAlester.

Melvin was born on August 13, 1936 at Los Banos, California to Joy O. and Lottie Bernice (Campbell) Taylor. He served in the United States Army and married Mary Ruth Redman on February 17, 1959 in Independence, Missouri. He was a commercial artist, auto mechanic and into body repair and restoration. He enjoyed restoring old cars and also playing pool.

Survivors include his children, Lois Ann Howard of Camdenton, MO, Ronald Allen Taylor of McAlester, OK, Donald Bill Taylor of Lake Ozark, MO; Terry B. Vogel and wife of Sedalia, MO and Sherry L. Vogel of Stockton, MO; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy C. Taylor and a sister, Veleda (Taylor) Scofield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth (Redman) Taylor on May 6, 2015; parents, Joy O. Taylor and Lottie B. (Campbell) Taylor; sister, Joyce (Taylor) Davolt; grandparents, Hiram C. and Helen V. Taylor.
