Melvin Ronald "Ron" Hunt, 82, passed away on August 9, 2025, in McAlester, Oklahoma. Born on August 11, 1942, in California to Melvin "Dutch" and Mildred (McMullen). He married Donna Sue Monks January 17, 1969. Ron lived a life marked by dedication to service, love of the outdoors, and deep connections with family, friends, and faith.

He is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife, Donna of the home; sons and daughters-in-law: David and Tammie Hunt of Duncan, Oklahoma; and Brad and Jennifer Hunt of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; Four grandchildren: Kya Hunt of Hartshorne; Trey Hunt and wife Lacie of Yukon; Tyler Smith of Duncan; and Jared Smith and wife Jamie of Blanchard; One great-grandchild, Landry Smith of Blanchard.

Ron is also survived by two brothers: Jim Hunt of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and John Hunt of Poteau, Oklahoma. He shared a special bond with Buck Hunt of Poteau, whom he considered an honorary brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dutch and Mildred Hunt.

Ron's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on August 12, 2025, from 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Funeral Services will be held on August 13, 2025, at 02:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartshorne. Graveside and final resting place will follow at Poteau Cemetery.
