Mary Ella Teague departed this earthly life on September 10, 2025, at the age of eighty-three. A devoted mother, wife, nana and Jesus loving beautiful disciple of Christ. Mary was a prayer warrior for everyone and touched and uplifted countless people.
Born in Yanush, Oklahoma on June 22, 1942 to Elmer Andy and Josie Ann Webb. Mary was the baby of the family and was loved and spoiled by all her siblings. Mary was blessed with five sisters and two brothers, Vada Hill, Gladys Jackson, Rosie Smith, Louella Casey, Florance Webb, Clarance "Bus" Kemp and Albert Webb.
Mary attended Yanush grade school and McAlester High School. Mary started her career as a healthcare worker for 20 years before dedicating 23 years to Walmart and retiring in 2020. Mary was passionate about being a servant leader in all aspects of her life.
On July 18, 1957, Mary vowed her love to Carol Lewis for 37 years until his passing in 1994. Mary and Carol had two sons and one daughter, Carl Lewis and wife, Vicky, Ricky Lewis, Lawanna Thompson and husband, Jeff. Mary was blessed by her children with thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, which was the apple of her eye. Not only did Mary love and raise three children of her own but also loved and nurtured her nephew, Eddie Wayne Howard and loved him as her own.
The Lord blessed Mary with love anew again on October 5, 1996, as she joined in marriage to Kenneth Teague. Mary gained four stepchildren, Angela Queddeng, DeWayne Teague, Casey Okeefe and Christofer Teague.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Carol Lewis, four sisters and two brothers, Vada Hill, Gladys Jackson, Florance Webb, Rosie Smith, Clarance "Bus" Kemp, and Albert Webb; best friend, Hazel Garrison; and her first great-granddaughter, Sophia Ann Martinez.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Dr. Terry LeQuieu and Chaplain Louis Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Lewis, Lawanna Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Rick Hollingback, Eddie Wayne Howard, and Maranda Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
On behalf of the family, a special thank you to McAlester Regional Hospice Nursing Staff for all the loving care you so graciously gave to our beloved momma over the past 6 months.
