Marilyn G. Shipley, 79, of McAlester, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at her home.  Funeral services will be Monday, April 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester.  Services will conclude at the chapel.  Marilyn will be entombed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee.  Pallbearers are Aaron Boatright, Tracy Walling, Russell Clark, Bradley Moore, Matt Vaughn and Sterling Taylor.  Honorary pallbearers are Harold Gene Conrad, Tryston Clark, Maddex Sutterfield, Cyprus Hallburt and Christopher Sutterfield.

Marilyn Shipley was born on August 30, 1942 in Boynton, Oklahoma to Virgil and Delean (Hale) Standridge.  She has lived in McAlester virtually all her adult life.  She worked at First National Bank of McAlester for over 40 years, retiring as a collection specialist.  Marilyn was all about family.  She loved to go on road trips, shopping, and to the casino with her family.

Marilyn is survived by a special friend, Jimmie Corder; her 2 daughters, Sandra Shipley of the home, and Teresa Walker and husband Bruce of Tulsa; her 3 grandchildren, Bradley Sutterfield and wife Paige of Coweta, Megan Walling and husband Tracy of McAlester, and Nate Walker and partner Helen Nguyen of Chicago; great grandchildren, Cyprus Hallburt, Maddex Sutterfield, Tryston Clark, JayeAnna Walling, Khloee Clark, and Sayer Walling.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
