Marguerite Louise Vaccari Marcangeli, 98, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at herresidence after spending cherished time with family and friends.  She was born on May 29, 1927 in Castelmassa, Italy on the Po River to Guido Nino Hugo Vaccari and Angela Maria Pasalla. She grew up during World War II in Beaumont, France as the oldest of four girls. Marguerite met the love of her life, Louis Camillo Marcangeli, in November, 1944, and they became engaged in March 1945. She immigrated to the United States onDecember 3, 1946, and the couple was married shortly after on December 19, 1946.

Marguerite is survived by her sister, Ginette Podevin of France; her daughters, Mary Louise Marcangeli Ross of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Elizabeth Jean Marcangeli Goodwin (Todd) of Dallas, Texas; her seven grandchildren, Woodrow Marcangeli (Terri) of Philadelphia, Mississippi, John Keith Marcangeli (Ragen) of Morton, Mississippi, Annette Ross Dilwith (James) of Sumrall, Mississippi, Margaret Ross Bounds (Randall) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Sylvia Ross Jones (John) of Sumrall, Mississippi, Emmeline Miles Holland (Brian) of Dallas, Texas, and Matt Miles of Dallas, Texas; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her ever-growing family was a constant source of joy throughout her long life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guido Vaccari and Angela Pasalla; her beloved husband, Louis Camillo Marcangeli; her son, John Guy Dominique Marcangeli; her sisters, Marie Therese Vaccari Rogeret and Isabel Vaccari Fauvet; and her great-grandson, James Tyler Marcangeli.

Marguerite will be remembered for her strong work ethic, boundless determination, tireless faith in God, and the love she poured into her family through her knitting and her cherished homemade ravioli. She dedicated 44 years of service as a bookkeeper with Williams CPA. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful member of St. Fabian Catholic Church.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and Catholic Mass to follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church.  A committal service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in McAlester will be held on Thursday, April 16, at 10:00 a.m.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who tended to Marguerite with compassion and care in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Fabian Catholic Church Building Fund.

Marguerite's legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her.
