Obituary

Margaret Beth McClain was born on May 07, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Hugo Loesch and Gladys (Main) Loesch Kerley.  She grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma and graduated from McAlester High School in 1946.  She attended OBU in Shawnee, Oklahoma, before transferring to Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she earned an associate degree.

Beth married Don McClain on April 15, 1950.  They made their home in McAlester, where they owned and operated McClain Building Center for a combined 75 years.

Beth was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester, where she taught Sunday school.  She was also a long time member of McAlester PEO and GFWC McAlester Fortnightly, Director of the Oklahoma Lumberman's Association – District III, and a Pittsburg County Woman of the Year in 2006.  She was instrumental in developing the McAlester Girls' Club and served on its board for many years.  Additionally, she and her husband were enthusiastic supporters of Boys and Girls Club of McAlester.

Beth is survived by daughters Jan Jordan, Karla Fournier  (Michael Underwood); grandchildren Brent Jordan (Teri ), Emy Vinyl, Holly Jordan, Kinsey Fournier (Daniel Martinec); great-grandchildren Arlo Jordan, Macy Jordan, Seth Jordan, Kate Jordan and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceeded in death by  father Hugo Loesch, mother Gladys Kerley, and husband Don McClain.
