Wilhelmina Lucille (Van Tuyl) Beck went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 17 ^th 2023.

Lucille was born on November 29 ^th 1923 in Whitewater, Kansas to Bertha and Harold Van Tuyl.  As a young girl she enjoyed spending time with herfour sisters and seeing many sites as her family traveled looking for work.  She loved to tell how she lived on Pike's Peak in Colorado.

At the age of 18, while working as a waitress in Colorado, she met a young man in the Army that was stationed at the base there.  After a whirlwind courtship, she ran off to Oklahoma with him and they became Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Lucille Beck on August 23, 1942.  She then settled in to a life in Dow, Oklahoma raising their children and becoming a member of the community.  Lucille joined the Dow Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities to help the church and young people.  She especially liked the quilting club and soon started quilting at home.  She enjoyed giving her quilts as gifts to family and friends.  After she retired from the Army Base, her love for quilting grew and she purchased a quilting machine, which she loved and continued making more quilts, enough that she started going to craft shows to sell her quilts.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy James; daughter-in-law, Debi Beck; granddaughter, Angela and Jeff Sharp; grandson's, Jeremy Beck, Robert and Kayla James; great-granddaughters, Tanya Sharp, Emma Beck, Ashlee and David Jowers; great-grandsons, Jason and Kori Sharp, Matthew and Parker James, Remington and Raylan Jowers; great-great-granddaughter, Isabelle Crosby; one very special niece, Sharon and Jason Burns of Ti Valley; nephews, Tim Beck, Kendall and Norma Beck; great-nephew, Andrew and Holly Burns; great-niece, Jami and Cody Fuller; sisters, Opal Thompson of Thomas, OK, Audrey and Bob Lawson of Emporia, KS, Darlene Thompson of Vacaville, CA; many numerous other loving family members.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jessie Beck; their children, Carol, Michael, Jerry and Tommy Beck; one sister, Lois Brown; one son-in-law, Pete James; nephews, Victor Hart and Tony Hart; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Gayle Beck and sister-in-law, Norma Jean Hart.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.  Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2022 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Hartshorne with Rev. Terry Sensibaugh officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, and near other family members that loved her.

Active pallbearers will be Andrew Burns, David Jowers, Tim Mitchell, Michael Wade, B.J. Cox and Albert Thornton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Beck, Robert James, Jeff Sharp, Jason Sharp, Jason Burns and Kendall Crosby.
