Lloyd Daniel "Danny" Colvard was born on December 1, 1943 at home in the Bowers Community located outside of Wilburton, the second son of Rutledge and Ruby Colvard, both of whom have preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Ford.

He left home after high school and after playing baseball for a year or two, he made a successful living as a custom home builder in Washington state, where he lived most of his adult life.

Danny excelled in sports, especially baseball and basketball.  He was inducted into the Wilburton Sports Hall of Fame in 2022.  He also spent a year playing in the minor league division of the Atlanta Braves professional baseball team.

He moved to Hartshorne in 2015 and enjoyed fellowship with the neighborhood Bible study group.

Danny is survived by his loving siblings, Herman Colvard and wife Laverne, Louise Humphrey and husband Leon, Karen Mitchell and husband Danny, and Mickey Colvard and wife Liz; a daughter, Tammy Windsor; and grandchildren, Cory Ford and Leslie, Alisa Ford, Sierra Bigalow, Daniel Windsor, and Bethany Windsor.  Also, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to express their thanks to Herman and Laverne Colvard for the loving care they gave Danny. And a very special thanks to the staff of McAlester Nursing Center and to the wonderful staff at Heartland Hospice.
