Linda Sue (Conner) Barlow, 76, of Krebs, died Saturday, April 10, at her home in Krebs. Viewing will be Wednesday until 5:00 p.m. and Thursday until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, April 16, at the Kiamichi Cowboy Church at 10:00 a.m. with pastor Mitch Arteberry officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Oss, Leon Parker, Frank Fry, Dink Conner, Brent Coffman, and Steve Walters.
Linda Sue Barlow was born on Sept. 3, 1944 in McAlester to Roy Conner and Ida Lurine (Painter) Conner. She grew up in McAlester, graduated from McAlester High School, and has lived here all her life. In 1964, she married Ted Barlow, from which 2 sons were born, Wesley and Teddy Glen. Linda was a true entrepreneur. She began working at an early age when her mother had the burger store in Krebs, (the old McAlpine Grocery), making western shirts there. Soon after she and Lurine opened L & L Western Wear, at the Stockyards, and eventually moved the business downtown. She had also owned and operated Sun Tans by Linda, one of the first tanning salons in McAlester, and at one time had operated taverns, Rig 1, Rig 2 and Rig 3.
Linda is survived by a son, Wesley Barlow of the home; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Leroy Conner and Larry Conner and Nancy of McAlester; and an aunt, Loretta Cotter of Longtown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Teddy Glen Barlow and sisters-in-law Beth Conner and Carolyn Conner.
