Leon Orman, 88, of McAlester, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his home.  A memorial service is planned for Friday, November 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel.

Leon Orman was born on September 18, 1935 in Stigler.  He grew up there and in 1958 he joined the U.S. Army.  He served for 2 enlistments and served during the Korean War as an expert rifle marksman and received an honorable discharge. In 1961 he married Imogene Bray and relocated to California. He spent much of his adult life in California and Oklahoma working as a shipping and receiving manager for an aircraft parts company.  He and Imogene moved to the McAlester area 28 years ago after he retired.  Leon loved taking pictures, as well being the subject of pictures, and displayed the pictures, mainly of family, all around his house.

Leon is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Vicki Orman; a daughter, Sheila Orman; grandchildren, David Orman, Jr and wife Emily, Cody Orman, Megan Orman, and Brandy Bryce and husband Billy; great grandchildren Daniel Orman, Wyatt Orman, Hagen Bush, Haley Bush and fiancé Gunner Bryant, Hunter Bush, and Kacey Vail and husband Jarred; great great grandchildren, Everleigh Diane Sosa and Leo James Vail; and special friend Vicki Foster.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Imogene Evelyn Bray Orman, and a son, Steven Claud Orman.
