Larry Eugene Sprague, 82, of Tulsa, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 at Ascension St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow. A family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Larry Eugene Sprague was born on October 23, 1943 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Gene Walter Sprague and Gladys Loretta (Melton) Sprague-Curtis. He was of the Christian faith. After high school he earned an associate degree and soon went to work as a machinist. He eventually joined Boeing/Spirit, where he was a manufacturing engineer building aircraft parts. But as an adult, his passion became training and working with horses. He spent many years in the area training horses and helping riders. He was also a member of the U. S. Navy Reserves and a Veteran of the Viet Nam War from 1964 to 1966. He married Sue Perry on April 23, 1964, and they recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sue Sprague; his children, Curtis Sprague and his wife Lisa, and Kristin Efurd and her husband Larry; grandchildren, Chelsea Anderson, Rain Sprague and her husband Daniel Barnard, Chloe Morris and her husband Justin, Payton Efurd and his wife Reiss; Perri Sweet and her husband, Brenden; great grandchildren, Jase Efurd, Ellis Efurd, and Arthur Morris; and 2 sisters, Nancy Leonard and her husband Tom, and Lynda Rooney. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Tom Curtis; and a brother-in-law, Mike Rooney and a nephew, Matthew Leonard.
