Larry Gene Griffin, 77, of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022.

He was born on December 5, 1944 in Winslow, Arizona to J.H. "Buddy" and Hettie (Wheeler) Griffin. He married Johnnie Mae Rose on October 31, 1964 in Hobbs, New Mexico.  He was a Telephone Lineman for General Telephone and later was County Foreman for the Pittsburg County District #2.  He also owned and operated Larry's Boot, Shoe & Saddle Repair.

He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Mae (Rose) Griffin; son, Rowdy Griffin and Shelly of McAlester, OK; daughter, Jennifer DeLana and Shawn of Pittsburg, OK; granddaughters, Amber Dominguez and Jaime, Shaylee Kay and Marty; grandson, Griffin Raines and Kaylie Brown; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Ketch Bennett, Karingtyn and Kutler Kay; brothers, Wayne Griffin and Jana of Crowder, OK, Garry Griffin of Checotah, OK; sisters, Pat Durham of Hobbs, NM, Rozell Rowland and Charlie of Pittsburg, OK, Sue Grubbs of Moore, OK and Diane McKinley of Granbury, TX; brother-in-law, Gilbert Rose and Rosetta of Stillwater, OK; sisters-in-law, Donna Whitworth and Benny of Pittsburg, OK, Reva Housley and Tony of Krebs, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.H. "Buddy" and Hettie (Wheeler) Griffin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, J.A. and Erna Rose; brothers, Leon Griffin and Bub Griffin; sisters, Twila Solberg, Delores Schlosser and Jackie Swilling; brothers-in-law, Bob Solberg, Harold Joe Schlosser, Harold Ray Swilling, Lindy Durham, Albert Rose and Jack McKinley; nephews, Robert Solberg, B.J. McKinley and Harold Swilling, Jr.

Family will receive friends for visitation and viewing on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 ^th at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Pittsburg Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be his nephews, Charlie Rowland, Jr., Eddie Griffin, Stephen Griffin, Anthony Griffin, Russell Griffin, Ryan Griffin and Bob McKinley.  Honorary pallbearers will be his Classmates of the 1963 graduating class of Pittsburg High School.
