Larry Lawrence
Crawley
Sep 6, 1954 — Sep 16, 2024
McAlester
Larry Crawley, 70, of McAlester, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 16, 2024. A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born on Sept. 6, 1954 in Altus, Oklahoma, Larry was the son of Lawrence Crawley and Betty (Wilbanks) (Crawley) Morin. He grew up in McAlester and attended McAlester public schools. He married Anita DeJacimo on April 3, 1971. They embarked on a journey that took him to Nebraska for several years, where he worked at car dealerships and restored cars for a living. However, his heart always belonged to McAlester, where he returned and laid down roots that built a foundation of friendships and memories that would last a lifetime.
Larry had recently retired from the Rural Water District 7 in Arpelar, where he worked for nearly 30 years. He was very dedicated to serving the customers and community in that area with his water expertise. There was not a leak he couldn't find or a break he couldn't fix. Morning, noon, or night, he would be there.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Larry loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, embracing the freedom of the open road with friends and family. The stories he could tell …..He cherished visiting car auctions and selling and working on old cars and trucks. Those were some of his greatest joys.
Larry is survived by his beloved children, Larry Don Crawley and Brandie, Mike Crawley, and Kathy Vieux and Jack. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Ashten Crawley, Skylar Crawley, Haylee Crawley, Bailey Crawley, Shelby Dominick, Elija Celeya, Collin Harbison, Cade Harbison, and Sayler Crawley, along with his great grandchildren, who called him PAPA CANDY, Adaline Crawley, Gentry Postoak, Elena Crawley, Coraline Jackson, Boston Dominick, and Zayne and Emery Harbison. Larry is also survived by his loving siblings, Cathy Byington, Peggy Crawley-Gwin, Rick Crawley, Cindy Curtis, Wayne Rowell, and Brenda Jennings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Randy and Tommy Crawley; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Gerald Wilson; and a granddaughter, Davonna Crawley.
Larry Crawley's warmth, laughter, and passion for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
