Obituary

Karon Marie Sexton, 45., of Arpelar, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 20.  Funeral services will be Thursday, June 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Daren Schoggins.  Burial will follow at Blue Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Hayden Swope, Braxton Griffith, Howard Schoggins, Robert Snow, Dale Brown and Stan Butler.

Karon Sexton was born on Oct. 25, 1975 in McAlester to Howard Herbert "Butch" Schoggins and Elsie Fern (Ward) Schoggins.  She grew up in this area and attended school at Haywood, then graduated from Stuart High School as the Valedictorian of her class.  As a teen she had worked at Arby's, then later at the First National Bank.  She had also worked as a legal secretary at law offices in Ada and Ardmore.  More recently she had worked at the Army Ammunition Base as a human resource specialist until her retirement.  Karon loved to work on arts and crafts and filled her house with many of her creations.  She was also a die-hard OSU Cowboy fan and rarely missed a game on TV.  She had been attending Life Church the past several years.

Karon is survived by her children, Hayden Swope, Braxton Griffith, Isabelle Sexton, and Weston Sexton; her mother, Elsie Schoggins; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Kristal Schoggins; a sister, Heidi Schoggins; nieces and nephews, Kallie Schoggins, Quincy Schoggins, Chanlor West, and Camden Schoggins; and the friends that became family, Jennifer Mansell, Nate Mansell, Hollie Mansell, Katie Mansell, and Scott Mansell.  She was preceded in death by her father, Butch Schoggins.
