Obituary

Judy Kay Wilson, 80, of McAlester, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at her home.  The family will be scheduling a Celebration of Life service in the near future.

Judy Kay Wilson was born on November 20, 1944 in Checotah to John Edd and Ora Lee (Cook) Cathey.  Her family moved to McAlester when Judy was a young child, and she has lived here ever since.  She married Lloyd "Buck" Wilson in 1970.  Judy earned her Registered Nurse certification from Eastern State College and proceeded to work for McAlester Hospital for over 25 years.  Later she owned and operated Windmill Cove Restaurant for 15 years, until finally retiring for good.  Judy enjoyed reading and crocheting.  Judy also liked to bowl and spent many hours honing her skills at the local bowling alley, as well as traveling to many regional bowling tournaments for several years.  However, what she treasured most was spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her husband, Buck Wilson; her children, Nancy Bess and Fred, Jason Wilson and Lori, Michael Wilson and Nancy, and Darla Holmes, who was like a daughter to her; seven grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Danny Todd Weeks; and 2 brothers, Johnny Cathey and
Bob Cathey.
