Obituary

Juanita Joyce (Hobbs) Williams of Pinetop, Oklahoma passed away at the age of 89 on December 4, 2023 in McAlester, Oklahoma surrounded by her family.  Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kiowa Church of Christ.

Juanita was born on September 15, 1934 in Enid, Oklahoma to William St. Clair and Lucy May (Tucker) Hobbs.   Juanita graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1950. She married Royal O. (Bubber) Williams on December 1, 1951 in McAlester, Oklahoma.  Juanita worked at Woolworth in McAlester and the McAlester Navy Ammunition Plant.  She later retired from the contract security department of the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant.

Juanita loved attending sporting events and watching her children and grandchildren play sports.  In her early years, Juanita was a member and president of the Kiowa chapter of the Pittsburg County Home Extension Group.  Every year Juanita and Bubber would host the Hobbs family Thanksgiving lunch at the family farm.  Hosting 70 to 100 people every year.  Juanita was famous for her taco salad and for being the only person who could duplicate her mother's chocolate pie recipe.  Juanita was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and wonderful Christian example to her family.  She was a lifetime member of the Kiowa church of Christ.

She is survived by her three daughters, Glynda Smith and husband Ron of South Lake, Texas, Brenda Porter and husband James of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Nancy Hughes and husband Randy of McAlester, Oklahoma. One son, Terry Williams and wife T.K. of Tontitown, Arkansas.

Twenty-two grandchildren, Stephanie Dyniewski and husband Josh of Colleyville, Texas, Melissa Smith, of Denton, Texas,  Amanda Dyniewski and husband Justin of North Richland Hills, Texas, Kim Smith and fiancé Aaron of Hurst, Texas, Heather Horton and husband Brad of McAlester, Oklahoma, Chris Porter of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, Brett Porter and wife Lauren of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, Tracy Weir and husband Warren of Oklahoma City, Mike Amaro of San Antonio, Texas, Kyle Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Erik Hughes of Noble, Oklahoma,  Holly Bennett and husband Michael of Indianola, Oklahoma, Hannah Martin and husband Jon Andrew of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Hilary Ary and husband Micheal of McAlester Oklahoma.  Twenty-two great-grandchildren: Kristen Smith, Trevor Smith, Kaylie Dyniewski, Evan Dyniewski, Blake Dyniewski, Emma Dyniewski, Will Dyniewski, Lukas Dyniewski, Caylin Horton, Parker Horton, Johnathan Porter, Kenna Porter, Silas Porter, Cooper Weir, Madison Weir, Hayden Towell, Ryleigh Martin, Kyler Martin, Eli Bennett, Chisum Bennett, Taylen Ary, and Remi Ary. Three Sisters, Mae Bell, Geneva Vaughan and husband Bobby, Janelle Beaver and husband Everett. Brother.  One brother, Leonard Hobbs. Two sisters-in-law, Sue Hobbs and Ethel Hobbs-Huggins.   Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Royal O. (Bubber) Williams. Her parents, William St. Clare (Bill) and Lucy May (Tucker) Hobbs, parents-in-law, William O. (Bud) and Clara Williams, sisters, Alice McDugle and Gladys White.  Brothers, Francis Hobbs and Lloyd Hobbs.  Sisters-in-Law, Nola Hobbs, Virginia Davis, Minnie Williams, and Faye Williams.  Brothers-in-law, Loyal Williams, Eugene McDugle, Talmadge Bell, and Wendall White.  Great granddaughter, Jamie Porter.
