Joy Earlene Corley, 88, of Checotah, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Tulsa.  The family will welcome friends for visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Graveside funeral services will be Friday, January 20th at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park with Pastor Don Parr officiating.

Joy Earlene Corley was born on September 14, 1934 in Blanco, Oklahoma, the daughter of Irene McIntosh and E.W. Wilcox.  She grew up in the Hartshorne, Wilburton, and Bugtussle areas.  She married U. D. Corley on March 12, 1955, and because of work, they moved around a bit, living in Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.  After U. D.'s retirement, they moved to the Lake Eufaula area and moved to the current home in 1997.  She loved living by the lake so she could watch the wild birds, especially the hummingbirds, and all the other wildlife.  She also loved the beautiful flowers in her flower gardens, and all of her many dolls she has collected. She loved the color purple. She enjoyed caring for her two sons and grandchildren. Joy Earlene is survived by two sons, Tim Corley and Jonathon Corley; grandchildren, Amber Wing and Dusty, Tiffanie Headding, Jonathon Corley, II, Lee Corley, and Leanna Corley; great grandchildren, Damien Williams, Zachary Williams, Hailey Williams, Kayson Headding, and Madison Taub.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001, a daughter, Deborah Ann, and her parents.
