Obituary

Joseph Micheal Williams, 42, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022.  The family will welcome friends for visitation on Thursday, August 4, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pryor Cemetery Chapel in Stuart, with Chris Rampey officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard.  Pallbearers are Trey Cannon, Jayson Williams, Andy Crisp, Lamar Crisp, Rich Zaccaro, and Jamey Fritts. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Hobbs, Jon O'Neil, Jacob Hile, Gage Williams.  The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's name be made to the Pryor Cemetery at P.O. Box 174, Stuart, Ok. 74570.

Joseph Micheal Williams was born on Nov. 1, 1979 in Antlers.  After graduating from McAlester High School, he joined the Army National Guard, and upon his discharge he joined the U. S. Navy, serving for 26 years between the two branches, traveling the world while being stationed at different places at home and abroad.  He received 7 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals while attaining the rank of LS1 First Class Petty Officer.  Joseph loved being with his son, Ryan, and their adventures together, either virtually playing games, or roasting dinner on a campfire.  Joseph was loving, caring, and will be greatly missed in the lives of many.

Joseph is survived by his son, Ryan Alexandre Williams of Virginia Beach; his father, William P. Cannon, Jr. of Arpelar; sisters and brothers, Jayson Williams and wife Mollie of Lehigh, Christina Cannon and Trey Cannon of Arpelar, Lisa Collins, Kevin Collins and Brad Collins, all of Texas; aunts and uncles, Georgia Hyslop, Shirley Torres, Christene Hile, Debra and Dennis Armstrong, all of McAlester; cousins, Doug Hobbs, Shawn and Carla Battles, Carrie and Dale Schultz, Amanda and Rich Zaccaro, Rebecca Hile, Lauren Armstrong, Jacob Hile, and Kaytln Hobbs; nieces and nephews, Gage, Gabriella, Axton, and Gracie.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Patti Cannon; grandmother, Maxine Williams; and uncles, Curtis Lee "Rusty" Williams and Gregory Hile.
