Joseph Lyle Bartheld, 59, of McAlester, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.

Joseph was born on March 3, 1963 in McAlester to Dr. Robert Lyle and Patricia (McCann) Bartheld.  He grew up here and attended McAlester schools and graduated from New Mexico Military Institute.  He earned his associates degree in Air Conditioning and refrigeration at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee.  He enjoyed rooting for his favorite football teams, the OU Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys, and enjoyed the company of his friends.  Joe worked at the Army Ammunition Plant and did commercial HVAC work in Dallas.  He was a proud father and loved taking his boys camping and fishing.  In his spare-time he enjoyed watching old western movies and listening to talk radio shows.  He was also a 32 ^nd degree Mason.

Joe is survived by his sons, Joseph Keaton Bartheld and Jordan Kooper Bartheld; the loving mother of his sons, Kaye (Clark) Bartheld; a brother, William Bartheld and wife Susan; a sister, Elizabeth Bartheld; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Thomas Bartheld; a nephew, Stephen McCann; his grandparents; and his dogs, Dio and Jack.

Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17th at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester.
