Johnny Thomas, 75, of Indianola, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his home.
He was born on July 9, 1946 in Canadian, Oklahoma to J.C. and Gearldine (Anderson) Thomas. He married Barbara Smith on October 2, 1965 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He was a Board Member of the Indianola Senior Citizen's Center and a member of the Full Gospel Church in Canadian.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thomas; son and daughter-in-law, John and Amy Thomas; mother, Gearldine Thomas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jimmie and Raymond Power, Katrina and Danny Bedlow, Denise and Kevin Workman, Tammy and Bill Palmer; grandchildren, Rylee Thomas, Peyton Runyun and Fairen Russell; great-grandchildren, Addie Stuffelbean, Gavin Russell and Ryn Runyun; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Thomas; sister, Betty Willingham and a grandson, J.L. Thomas.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Pastor G.C. Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery in Canadian, Oklahoma. Active pallbearers will be Tim Hamilton, Charles Barschenger, Danny Jurkiewicz, Phillip Webster and Wesley Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Young, Donny Walton, Bob Mouser, Robert Rogers, Allen Rodgers and Johnny Reagan.
