John David Watson, 79, of the Longtown area, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at his home.

He was born on November 1, 1943 in McAlester, Oklahoma to John Harold and Catherine Mary (DeJacimo) Watson. He served in the 45 ^th Infantry Division of the National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve for 23 years. He retired from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant after 35 years. He married Bernadette (Young) Skinner in Crowder, Oklahoma. He was very proud of his Italian Heritage and being from Krebs, Oklahoma. His family had Watson Grocery Store in Krebs, Oklahoma for years.  John worked at the store and the Isle of Capri. He was known as the Italian Stallion and the "Hooyah Man" by many.  He enjoyed being with family and friends, golfing, lake activities, motorcycles and he was a member of the Elks Lodge #533.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Watson of the home; children and spouses, Lisa and husband Robby Robison of Little Rock, AR, Cinna Smith of Tulsa, OK, Kelly Cummins of Jenks, OK, Jackie and husband Corey Pozarek of Benton, AR and Jeremy and wife Jessica Skinner of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Derrick Huey, Bailey Cummins, Holly Cummins, Harper Pozarek, Sawyer Pozarek and Porter Pozarek; special niece and nephew, Lavona and David Wadley; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Joyce Kathleen (Watson) Burke and Margret Jean (Watson) Burnett.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Red Coleman officiating.
