John W. "Tuck" Overton II, 89, of McAlester, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at his home.

Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Brumley-Mills Chapel with David Cantrell officiating.  Burial will be at Bohannon Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Greg Overton, Danny Holloway, Max McNutt, Paul Moore, Mike Moore and Aaron Moore.  Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Crews, Grady Crews, Griffin Crews, Gunner Crews, Kannon Crews and Todd Wilson.

Tuck was born on March 18, 1935 at Bohannon, Oklahoma to John Wesley and Birdie (Gray) Overton. He owned and operated Overton's Refrigeration for many years and also an overland truck driver. He married Lauretta (Misener) Lambert on December 4, 2013 in McAlester. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Lauretta Overton of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and LeCretia Overton of McAlester, OK; daughter, Cheri (Overton) Minchew of McAlester, OK; grandchildren, J.D. Crews of Milo, MO; four great-grandsons, Grady Crews of Milo, MO, Griffin Crews of Milo, MO, Gunner Crews of Windsor, VA and Kannon Crews of Windsor, VA; granddaughter, Misty Wilson; grandson, Todd Wilson and wife, Cindy; sisters, Greta Colvin of Shawnee, OK and Rose Shaw of McAlester, OK; two stepsons, Jake Lambert of Kiowa, OK and Boyce Lambert of Kiowa, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Birdie Overton; step-dad, Lee McNutt; son, Johnny Overton; brothers, Rayford Overton and Virgil Overton; sisters, Morine McNutt and Norma Desmen; grandsons, Wesley Crews, Charles Crews and Chance Holden.
