John Maurice Clark, 80, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in McAlester, Oklahoma.

John Maurice Clark, born February 19, 1944, to Clairmont and Margaretta Clark in Hastings, Nebraska, passed away on November 7, 2024, in McAlester, Oklahoma. Known for his sense of humor, infectious laugh, and deep love for family, John leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and passion.

Raised in Campbell, Nebraska, John attended Campbell schools, graduating high school in 1962. He went on to marry and raise two sons, Mark and Tim, who were the pride of his life. A talented electrician, John built a successful career in the electrical field, eventually establishing and running his own electrical contracting companies. His dedication to his craft made him a respected figure in his field.

John's adventurous spirit was evident in his love of flying. Earning his private pilot's license with an instrument rating, he owned and flew two airplanes over the years, finding freedom and joy in the skies. He also had a passion for pheasant hunting, a pastime he enjoyed and shared with his family, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Clairmont and Margaretta. He is survived by his partner, Dorothy King; her children, Kenneth, Kevin, and Jessica, and their families. He also leaves behind his sisters, Cathryn Byrne and Mary Beth Gashaw; his sons, Mark Clark and Tim Clark and family. His family and friends will remember him for his generosity, humor, and his ever-present spirit of adventure.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 10, from 2–3 p.m., with a service to follow at 3 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to a preferred Charity or Cause that has impacted a member of your family.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth King, Kevin King, Mark Clark, Tim Clark, Jakob Clark, and Jack Clark.
